Firearms Safety Training Courses

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:

The CORE Hunter Training course has 8 components:

  • Conservation
  • Ethics
  • Laws and regulations
  • Gun safety
  • Gun handling
  • Bird identification
  • Big game identification
  • First aid and survival
  • A written test comprised of 70 questions. The passing mark is 80%.
  • A practical test, comprised of gun handling and ammunition identification.

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course requires training in the following areas:

  • The Acts and Prove system
  • Firearms history
  • Black powder
  • Ammunition
  • Sight types
  • Firing positions
  • Transportation and storage
  • Firearms classifications
  • Social responsibilities as a firearm user
  • Legal requirements and penalties overview
  • Practical gun handling

 

CANADIAN FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE

P.A.L. COURSE  for  Possession And Acquisition License

This course, offered to those 18 and older, covers safe and proficient handling of all long guns (non-restricted) types of firearms and the laws pertaining to their use. This course prepares the student to obtain the Possession and Acquisition License for Non Restricted Weapons. This license is required for purchasing, inheriting or borrowing a firearm, and purchasing ammunition.

Note:   

A minors permit is possible for minors from 12 to 18 years of age, who successfully complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course Non restricted.

HUNTER SAFETY COURSE

C.O.R.E.  COURSE   for  Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Course

 Those wishing to obtain their first resident hunting license, who are 14 years of age or over, must successfully complete the Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (C.O.R.E.) program examinations

A complete course of instruction in C.O.R.E. is now offered. The course will help prepare the student for the written examination and practical firearms safety test which is also provided. The graduate C.O.R.E student will be given the necessary course completion forms to receive the C.O.R.E certificate.

C.O.R.E (Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education) AND  P.A.L. (Possession And Acquisition License) 

In this hunter training course the instructor inserts the Canadian Firearms Safety Course into the program, to get your PAL.

As well:

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course, generally those 18 and older, covers safe and proficient handling of all long guns (non-restricted) types of firearms (Long guns) and the laws pertaining to their use. This course prepares the student to obtain a Possession and Acquisition License for Non Restricted Weapons, a requirement for purchasing, inheriting or borrowing a firearms and buying ammunition.

RESTRICTED CANADIAN FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE

R.P.A.L. –  RESTRICTED  POSSESION AND AQUISTION LICENCE

This course is offered to those 18 and older. It covers safe and proficient handling of all Handgun types (RESTRICTIED FIREARMS) and the laws pertaining to their use, and prepares the student to obtain the RESTRICTED CERTIFICATION for their Possession And Acquisition (P.A.L.) License. This license is required for purchasing, inheriting, or borrowing a RESTRICTED FIREARM.


Cancellation Policy

You may cancel within 2 weeks of a class date and receive a refund. After that class fees are not refundable, except under extenuating circumstances i.e. death in the family.
